A Midsummer Night’s Dream

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, organized by Donostia 2016, the Cristina Enea Park became the setting for one of his most representative works: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The perfect forest for a recreation designed to immerse the public in the play as never before.

This performance, a blend of theatre, dance and music, invited the audience to participate by playing the part of the guests at the wedding banquet serving as the context for the function. Every evening, 300 people were invited to participate in a pre-nuptial banquet before setting out, with nightfall, on a travelling tale merging theatre, music and dance round the delightful nooks and crannies of Cristina Enea and its magical forest.

Under the direction of Fernando Bernués and Iñaki Rikarte, Ikerne Giménez was in charge of scenery, clothing and characterization.
Our collaboration with Ikerne took the form in generating throughout the park schematic previews of the scenarios and the work environment. To streamline and facilitate decision making, we worked on 2D drawings and plant layout drawings, 3D modeling, renderings and photomontages.
